Field guide 01 · Cleaning businesses

A website for quote requests.
Start there.

If you run a small cleaning business, your first website can be simple: explain what you clean, where you work, and how someone can ask for a quote.

Our starting recommendation

For a single page with a contact form, investigate Carrd Pro Standard first. Its published $19 annual plan includes custom domains and forms. That makes it a sensible low-cost candidate, not a tested winner. You still need a domain and must check that the form handles the information you need.

Choose a broader builder only when you can name the extra job it must do—for example, several service pages or a booking workflow. If you only need a temporary information page, consider Google Sites before paying for anything.

Build a quote path before a booking system

A quote request can be a better first step when prices depend on home size, condition, service area, or frequency. Instant booking makes more sense once you can define the job, price, and available times reliably. This is our workflow recommendation, not a promise that a builder will increase sales.

Only promise a response time you can meet. Do not ask for entry codes, payment-card details, or a full address in the initial inquiry.

What belongs on the first page?

  1. Services and coverage: what you offer and the locations you actually serve.
  2. Real evidence: your own photos, permissioned customer reviews, and accurate credentials. Leave out claims you cannot support.
  3. A clear next step: one prominent contact method and an explanation of what happens after the request.
  4. Useful expectations: supplies, pets, cancellations, and any minimum job size that applies.

Before you pay, run this small trial

  1. Build the same draft with the actual text and photos you will use.
  2. Check the page on your phone. Can someone find your service area and contact button without hunting?
  3. Submit a test inquiry. Confirm receipt, reply, and spam handling.
  4. Write down the total due today, renewal date, and cost of the domain and email after any free period.
  5. Confirm who owns the domain and how you would leave the platform.

When this advice does not fit

If you need staff scheduling, recurring billing, route planning, or customer accounts, write those requirements down first. A simple website plus disconnected tools may create more work. This guide does not evaluate field-service software or payment processing.
